Alexander Stadium has already welcomed the Novuna UK Athletics Championships in 2026, and now it is preparing to host Europe's finest athletes as they arrive to compete and experience everything Birmingham has to offer.

The city is enjoying a standout summer of sport, with the European Athletics Championships set to be its next major highlight.

The championships will mark a landmark moment for athletics, becoming the first time the UK's has hosted the European Athletics Championships. Until now, it had been the only major international outdoor track and field championships never to be staged on British soil.
